This issue of the journal "Nature Conservation Research" contains articles devoted to parasitological studies of animals carried out completely or predominantly in Protected Areas of Europe, Asia and Africa. The special issue includes research articles and short communications. One group of articles is devoted to studies of mammals, including small mammals (mouse-like rodents) in the Belogorye State Nature Reserve (Russia), wild carnivorans in Primorsky Krai (Russian Far East), and Eimeria spp. infection in three antelope species in the Souss-Massa National Park (Morocco). Two articles are devoted to parasites of amphibians, including helminthes of Bufo bufo in the National Park «Smolny» (Russia) and the Brandesia turgida infection in the small intestine of Pelophylax ridibundus in European Russia. Parasites of fish were studied in Cat Tien National Park, Vietnam (incl. molecular and morphological characteristics) and in lakes of Khar Us Nuur National Park, Mongolia (in relation to the endemic species Oreoleuciscus potanini). Finally, morphological and molecular approaches were applied to identify and investigate Oswaldocruzia filiformis s.l. from amphibians and reptiles in European Russia.
