Regular issue 7(3) of the journal «Nature Conservation Research» has been released

This issue of the journal “Nature Conservation Research" contains articles devoted to various taxonomic groups in Europe and South America. It includes research articles and short communications, devoted to vascular plants, lichens, insects, parasites, and issues of the Protected Area management. The helminth fauna of two bats (Myotis brandtii and Myotis mystacinus) in the Samarskaya Luka National Park and one fish species (Coregonus lavaretus) in the Kostomuksha Reserve was studied. The negative impact of forest fires on Pteridium arachnoideum in the Brazilian savanna is shown. The influence of climatic factors on dates of the mass flowering of Bulbocodium versicolor on the southeastern border of its range (Volgograd Region, Russia) was studied. It is shown that the Kologriv Forest State Nature Reserve meets the criteria for recognition it as a lichen diversity hotspot. For high alpine narrow endemic, Carabus cychroides, a population decline is predicted in the coming decades due to climate warming. Using methods of the seed micromorphology research, the independence of an endemic species, Orchis canariensis, previously considered an intraspecific taxon of Orchis patens, was confirmed. For Brazilian Protected Areas, it has been shown that mammals and birds are the main umbrella species, providing shelter (protection) for a greater diversity of other species compared to other taxonomic groups.
